Generator Interconnection Standards
Generator interconnection is a special arrangement between Great Lakes Energy and a member who wants to interconnect any type of generating system to the co-op’s electric distribution system and operate it in parallel. Such facilities include photovoltaic/solar arrays, wind turbines, hydroelectric turbines, fuel cells, and more. The interconnection standards have been approved by the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC).
Members are also required to use the interconnection standards and applications for the net metering program, a process where bill credits are provided for excess electricity generated by a renewable system.
Questions regarding generator interconnection standards or the net metering program can be directed to Gus Paz at gpaz@glenergy.com or 1-888-485-2537, ext. 1308.
