Harvest Wind Farm

The Harvest Wind Farm is located between Elkton and Pigeon, Michigan, in Huron County on 3,200 acres. It was started in June 2007 and began producing power in December 2007.
- John Deere Wind Energy is the project developer.
- Wolverine Power Cooperative (WPC), headquartered in Cadillac, Michigan, is purchasing energy from the project under a 20-year purchase power agreement. WPC will sell energy from the project to its member cooperatives, which includes Great Lakes Energy. Wolverine was the receipient of the 2008 Wind Cooperative of the Year Award from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Wind and Hydropower Technologies Program.
- The Harvest Wind Farm has 32 turbines, each capable of producing 1.65 megawatts of electricity, for a total project capacity of 52.8 megawatts. The farm can generate enough electricity to power more than 15,000 Michigan homes.
