National Electric Cooperative Youth Tour
The National Electric Cooperative Youth Tour brings together hundreds of students each June from the 46 states that have electric cooperatives. The 2010 dates are Saturday, June 12 through Thursday, June 17. You’ll tour the nation’s monuments and historic sites, such as Ford’s Theater, the Lincoln Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the Smithsonian Museum, and Mount Vernon. Students who go on Youth Tour spend a day at the U.S. Capitol, meeting Michigan’s representatives and senators.
Only students who attend the Michigan Youth Leadership Summit program in April are considered to represent Great Lakes Energy at the national Electric Cooperative Youth Tour. High school students in the 10th or 11th grades, whose parents/guardians are members of Great Lakes Energy, may apply to attend Teen Days by submitting an application online or contacting our office at 1-888-485-2537, Ext. 8174.
