Trimming Trees for Reliable Power

Each year, Great Lakes Energy determines areas to be targeted for vegetation management, or tree re-clearing, along our power lines.

Trees, it turns out, are a major cause of power outages on GLE lines. Methodical trimming and herbicide application on a regular schedule helps to reduce vegetation-caused outages and lessen annoying blinks.

See by the schedule below if your county or township is scheduled for re-clearing in 2018. If your area is scheduled, and provided we have your accurate contact information on file, you will receive an automated phone call, postcard and email from us advising you of vegetation management measures planned.  To verify your contact information is up-to-date, please call us at 888-GT-LAKES (485-2537).
