Nails and staples left from signs hung on a utility pole may seem harmless unless you’re a lineworker who is working in the dark to restore power and doesn’t see them. They can easily rip protective gloves, putting a lineworker at risk of being electrocuted.
Lineworkers also may not see other items on poles that could cause them to slip and fall–like a bird house, plant hanger, or other objects.
For our lineworkers’ safety, please don’t attach anything to a utility pole. The GLE lineworkers who help keep your lights on thank you.
