Giving Tuesday on November 27 encourages giving, especially to nonprofit organizations. It demonstrates how every act of generosity counts and means even more when we give together.
Participate in Giving Tuesday by joining your fellow Great Lakes Energy members in contributing to the People Fund.
The People Fund harnesses the power of pooling small donations from GLE members for sizeable grants to nonprofit community and charitable organizations that serve people in GLE’s area.
While the average contribution to the People Fund is 50 cents a month or less, thanks to thousands of GLE members rounding up their bills, the total impact has added up to more than $3.5 million in grants since the People Fund began in 1999. Imagine that much money raised from GLE members pooling resources to benefit their local communities!
Fittingly enough, Giving Tuesday follows Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. After shopping for everyone else on your list, isn’t it nice to make giving to your community part of your holiday spending?
This year, do that by participating in the People Fund. Here’s how:
- Joining the People Fund is easy. You’ll increase grant funds available for local nonprofit organizations and give yourself a chance twice a year to win a $100 bill credit.
- Already a People Fund participant? Consider People Fund PLUS. It’s for those who would like to give more. Choose any additional amount you’d like to contribute monthly on your bill. $1? $2? $5? You decide. To be part of People Fund PLUS, call us at 1-888-485-2537 or indicate the PLUS amount you’d like to contribute on the People Fund enrollment form.
- Want to make a one-time extra contribution? You can do that, too! Just send a check to: The People Fund, c/o Great Lakes Energy, P.O. Box 70, Boyne City, MI 49712.
