A second round of damaging wind and rain storms has caused more outages for Great Lakes Energy members. Currently, over 8,100 members in 13 counties are still without power.
Most of the damage caused by the storm is in parts of Lake, Oceana, and Osceola counties.
All available Great Lakes Energy crews assisted by contract crews are working to restore power. Restoration progress will depend weather conditions as the second line of storms has hindered efforts and storms are expected to continue throughout the evening. It is anticipated that restorations efforts for some areas will continue into Sunday.
Great Lakes Energy members are reminded to stay away from downed power lines and also stay clear of trees and limbs hanging on the lines. Current outage information by counties and zip codes is updated on the Great Lakes Energy website, www.gtlakes.com, and can be seen by visiting Storm Central.
Great Lakes Energy members can report their power outage online, on the Great Lakes Energy app or by calling 888-485-2537.
