Great Lakes Energy Sustains Restoration Efforts for Members

Less than 800 Great Lakes Energy (GLE) members are still without power following restoration efforts that began yesterday. Over the course of the last 48 hours, line crews have restored power to more than 20,000 GLE members. Line crews will continue their efforts until power has been restored to all members.

Outages remain across 8 counties throughout the Great Lakes Energy service territory with the greatest remaining concentration in Emmet County. Current outage information by county can be accessed on the Great Lakes Energy website, www.gtlakes.com, by visiting Storm Central.

GLE members requiring power should make alternative plans for overnight accommodation if service is not restored by 11 p.m. tonight. For residents with limited options, Michigan 2-1-1 is a local resource available to connect those in need with lodging, food, or assistance. Visit www.mi211.org to learn more.

Great Lakes Energy members are reminded to stay away from downed power lines and to also stay clear of trees and limbs hanging on the lines. For the safety of our members and our staff, please do not approach or engage with line crews working to restore power.
