When severe weather hits and outages stretch across counties, restoring power becomes more than a job—it becomes a united mission.
We began adding additional crews shortly after the ice storm ended, and we’re incredibly grateful for the dedicated contract and mutual aid crews who have answered the call to assist in restoring power to our members. We now have more than 800 contractors working alongside our 300 dedicated employees. We’ve brought in crews and contractors from across the country. They may not have the GLE logo on their trucks, but they are here to help us get the lights back on faster.
These skilled professionals have traveled from across the the country, leaving behind their own families and communities to help ours. They’ve jumped in alongside our lineworkers and support staff, often working in freezing temperatures, difficult terrain, and long hours—all to bring the lights back on for people they’ve never met. That’s the power of partnership and purpose.
We’d also like to acknowledge the coordination it takes behind the scenes—from logistics and lodging to safety briefings and equipment prep. None of this happens without careful planning and a shared commitment to service.
As the number of boots on the ground continues to grow—including National Guard support and office teams backing every effort—we’re reminded of just how strong this network of support truly is.
To our mutual aid partners and contract crews: Thank you. Your hard work, dedication, and willingness to serve have made a lasting impact on our communities—and we are truly grateful.
Together, we’ll get through this. And together, we’ll restore power—one home, one road, one neighborhood at a time.
