Storm Debris Cleanup Update

Crews continue working across our northern service areas to remove both vegetation and infrastructure debris left behind by the recent ice storm. Cleanup is progressing steadily, but it’s important to understand that infrastructure debris and vegetation debris are handled separately.

Infrastructure debris

Crews have worked tirelessly to collect and remove damaged poles, crossarms, wire, and other equipment left behind during the March ice storm restoration. While most areas are complete, we know there may still be locations we’ve missed.

If you still have GLE infrastructure debris on your property, please let us know by Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, so we can send a crew.

We offer three convenient options to report missed debris:

  1. Complete our online form HERE
  2. Email us at [email protected]
  3. Call us at 888-485-2537

✅ Include name, service address, city, state, and location/type of debris!

Vegetation debris

Vegetation debris (tree branches, etc.) is removed separately in a multi-stage process and is still ongoing in some areas.

Vegetation removal follows a two-step process:

  1. Cutting crews clear trees and vegetation, but do not remove them.
  2. Removal crews arrive approximately 7–10 days later to collect, load, and haul away debris.

Unlike typical yard cleanup, crews do not cut trees into firewood. All debris must be removed entirely and documented for FEMA reimbursement. A monitor accompanies each crew to take photos and verify work, so please do not move or remove cut trees or branches. Doing so can affect the FEMA funding we are actively pursuing to help cover the massive costs of this storm.

Please wait at least two weeks after the cutting crews have been through your area before reporting vegetation debris left behind.

Moving forward

Crews are working seven days a week to stay on schedule, and all cleanup is expected to be complete by the end of October. Thank you for your continued patience and support as we work to complete cleanup efforts safely and thoroughly!
