August 2, 2015
As of 8 p.m. Sunday, August 2, over 16,000 Great Lakes Energy members in parts of 20 counties remain without power as a result of a line of damaging thunderstorms that rolled across parts of the state throughout the day and evening.
Most of the outages are in parts of Antrim, Crawford, Kalkaska, Oceana and Otsego counties that were hardest hit by the last round of severe storms.
All available GLE crews and contracted line crews are working to repair power lines damaged by falling trees and limbs and lightning. However, due to the severe power line damage in parts of 20 counties, members who do not have their power restored by 9 p.m. tonight will likely remain off for the evening. They are advised to make emergency arrangements for the night, if necessary.
Members without power are advised to report their outages by calling 800-678-0411. High call volumes may result in longer-than-normal hold times. Please remain on the line to report your outage.
