Great Lakes Energy members are asked to be aware of a possible scam. A GLE member in the Grayling area was contacted today by a caller claiming to be from Great Lakes Energy. The caller informed the member that they could upgrade their electrical service for $2,000. When the member started asking additional questions, the caller hung up.
GLE reminds members to be cautious when asked for personal or banking information over the phone. Never wire or send money over the phone to someone you don’t know. For a list of tips to help avoid fraud visit the Federal Trade Commission’s website.
