With high winds and damaging gusts expected to continue through Tuesday throughout much of the state, Great Lakes Energy repair crews will continue to restore power to as many members as possible today.
The windstorm has affected over 18,300 Great Lakes Energy members in most of the electric cooperative’s 26 county service area. Power has been restored to 15,318 members so far leaving an estimated 3,047 still without power late this afternoon.
Most of the remaining outages are in parts of Antrim, Charlevoix and Emmet counties.
Should your power not be restored by late Tuesday evening, you will likely remain without power overnight and are advised to make alternate shelter arrangements.Â
Great Lakes Energy members are reminded to stay away from downed power lines and also stay clear of trees and limbs hanging on the lines.
