Truestream powered by Great Lakes Energy

Truestream Connects Its First Subscriber!

We officially made history! On Thursday, Oct. 25, Truestream connected its first high-speed fiber-to-the-home Internet subscriber, and the family of five couldn’t be happier. We predict lots of family movie nights ahead!

Truestream’s first subscriber is a Great Lakes Energy employee who happens to live on the main fiber line installation route. We could hardly ask for a better first subscriber and Truestream “friendly” to test the service for us.

The best news of all came with results of Truestream’s speedtest. The upload and download speeds received passing grades, which means we are moving on to more installations in this initial area in the coming weeks.

This is just the beginning.

We’re looking out for you.

Just hooked up to Truestream last week. It is unbelievably fast and seamless to operate. Streaming tv has been a breeze as well – no buffering or waiting or stopping with the shows I watch. Well done!

We moved from a Comcast cable area downstate and Truestream is far superior. Latency is very low, over 30ms less than cable, and our school, video and cell phone (wifi calling) calls and work VPN now function perfectly – even outside. We get a full Gigabit of bandwidth even in during the middle of day and during the evening, times when my previous provider would slow to a crawl. Installation was super friendly and efficient. We use the Truestream Zyxel modem with our own router and access points, which I really appreciate. I am really happy to be off of… Read more »

I am really excited about getting internet. I have been waiting years to be able to stream movies etc… When should I expect to be hooked up to the service? I live in Charlevoix and I filled out all of the paperwork. I do not want to bother calling because I know you must all be really busy. It would be nice to get some kind of an estimate of the time frame for installation. If there is an online sight I can look up this information that would be great too.

The Truestream website will be the best source of information for timelines and progress! For starters, you can check the area map ( https://www.truestreamfiber.com/status-map/ ) and be sure to keep an eye on the news page ( https://www.truestreamfiber.com/news/ ) for the latest construction developments!

We are absolutely head over heels for the new Truestream wireless. It is easy to use and the transition was seamless! The technicians and service techs were professional and courteous. Speeds have been so much better than what we had in the past! Thank you for investing in our future infrastructure! As a customer I truly appreciate it!

We appreciate the local staff as opposed to having to talk with someone halfway across the country or world!

Hi Carol, Truestream fiber internet will enable you to replace direct TV with streaming services, likely at a more affordable rate.
