Outage Restoration Continues for Great Lakes Energy Members

Service was restored to nearly 11,000 members today through the combined efforts of Great Lakes Energy and contract line crews following a wave of intense storm activity and high, gusting winds. More than 7,500 members are still without power. All available GLE line crews have been dispatched and are working to restore service to the remaining affected members.

Outages are reported across 14 counties throughout the Great Lakes Energy service territory. Areas most impacted by outages are Lake, Newaygo, and Osceola counties. Current outage information by county is updated on the Great Lakes Energy website, www.gtlakes.com, by visiting Storm Central.

GLE members requiring power should make alternative plans for overnight accommodation if service is not restored by 11 p.m. tonight. For residents with limited options, Michigan 2-1-1 is a local resource available to connect those in need with lodging, food, or assistance. Visit www.mi211.org to learn more.

Great Lakes Energy members can report their power outage through their online account, on the Great Lakes Energy app, or by calling 888-485-2537.

Members are encouraged to enroll in outage notifications to stay informed throughout the restoration process. By managing service notifications through their online account, they can elect to receive updates by text or email. Instructions for setting up outage notifications can be found at www.gtlakes.com/opt-in/.
