Great Lakes Energy and contract line crews worked into the evening last night to restore power to more than 2,000 GLE members. Roughly 6,000 members are still without power this morning. All available GLE line crews have been dispatched, along with assistance from contract and mutual aid crews, and are working to restore service to the remaining affected members.
Outages are reported across 18 counties throughout the Great Lakes Energy service territory. Areas most impacted by outages are Lake and Newaygo counties. Current outage information by county is updated on the Great Lakes Energy website, www.gtlakes.com, by visiting Storm Central.
For the safety of our members and crews, please do not approach or interfere with power restoration work. If you are using a generator, ensure it is properly installed with a transfer switch to prevent dangerous backfeeding into power lines. Great Lakes Energy also reminds members to stay away from downed power lines and any trees or branches that may be in contact with them.
Great Lakes Energy members can report their power outage through their online account, on the Great Lakes Energy app, or by calling 888-485-2537.
