Don’t let your GLE teen miss the opportunity to practice leadership skills while having fun at the 2015 Youth Leadership Summit (YLS). This year’s event takes place April 22-24 at SpringHill Camp near Cadillac.
The free three-day program includes meals and lodging. Participants learn leadership and team building skills that combine hands-on classroom exercises and outdoor activities such as a high ropes challenge. Attendees also learn how to respond to an emergency situation, explore diverse careers in energy, test their decision-making skills as an elected official, and ask a university representative what to expect as they prepare for life after high school.
Students selected to attend will have the opportunity for a free trip to Washington, D.C. June 13-18, 2015 during the national Electric Cooperative Youth Tour with other co-op teens from all over the nation.
YLS applicants must be high school sophomores or juniors whose parents or guardians are GLE members.
Applications can be submitted online by visiting miyls.com and are due by Friday, March 20.
